About the College
Founded in 1982. Still asking the same first question — what should a college be?
Sri Vignesh College is a residential undergraduate and postgraduate institution on a 120-acre campus in Coimbatore. We are affiliated to Bharathiar University and accredited by NAAC with an A+ grade.
Our mission
To educate the whole person — mind, character, and community.
We believe an undergraduate education should be transformative, not transactional. Our curriculum is deliberately liberal: students in commerce study literature, students in chemistry study philosophy, and everyone learns to write clearly and reason honestly.
Class sizes are kept small — median 22 students per seminar — so that every student is known and every voice is heard. Our residential system organizes campus life around seven houses, each with its own dining hall, faculty fellow, and traditions.

What we value
Four commitments we make to every student who enrolls.
Intellectual honesty
We teach students to hold ideas up to evidence — including their own.
Service and citizenship
We teach students to hold ideas up to evidence — including their own.
Craft and rigor
We choose depth over breadth: fewer subjects taught with real care.
Belonging
A residential campus, a hostel that feels like home, and mentors who stay in touch.
From the Principal
"A college is finally a promise — that four years spent here will be worth forty years of what comes after. We take that promise very seriously."
— Dr. Meera Sundaram, Principal
